Social Competence
The kindergarten shall contribute to well‑being and joy in play and learning, and be a safe and engaging place for community and friendship.
The kindergarten shall convey cultural values, provide space for children’s own cultural expression, and ensure that all children experience joy and mastery within a social and cultural community.
Our measures to achieve this:
- We hold group gatherings that focus on community and joy.
- These gatherings are also used to work with various themes within this broad area.
- We organise activities in smaller groups so each child has more space to express themselves, and so interaction and play rules become easier to manage.
- Children are guided away from unhelpful or negative interaction patterns.
- Play is the children’s most important learning arena for developing social competence.
Therefore, play holds a central place in the kindergarten and is highly prioritised by us.
