Parental cooperation

Parental cooperation is very important to us at Polarhagen Kindergarten, and it is essential for us to do a good job with the children. The Kindergarten Act states that parents hold the primary responsibility for their child’s upbringing. The kindergarten shall support this work, and therefore a close and trusting cooperation with the home is necessary. Before the child starts kindergarten, we hold an introductory meeting with the parents to get to know the child and their needs. Parents are also welcome to visit before the child starts.

In Polarhagen Kindergarten, we facilitate daily contact during drop‑off and pick‑up times. This helps us get to know each other in a natural and informal way.

More formal contact is provided through parent meetings and parent‑teacher conferences. We hold one parent meeting per year, which takes place in the autumn. During this meeting, you will receive thorough information about the kindergarten year. All parents are offered parent‑teacher conferences at least twice a year. Before the meetings, we will have observed each individual child.

The staff at Polarhagen are attentive to parents’ input and want parents to share their expectations, wishes, and thoughts regarding the kindergarten’s practices in all areas.

The staff can also be consulted if you need guidance or support related to parenting questions, or we can assist in referring you to other support services if needed.

Parents also participate in the kindergarten’s operations through their representatives on the collaboration committee, which includes staff and owner representatives.

Parents are always welcome with us.
