We work extensively in small groups, where each group has its own pedagogical plan. We have two departments, but the children are free to move between them, and we create groups across departments.
In our monthly plans, you can read about how we work with the various subject areas in everyday kindergarten activities. In the annual plan, you can read about how we work with care, formation, play, participation, learning, and social competence.
We use KIDPLAN as our communication platform. There we post different types of information and weekly plans that describe what we will be working on each week.
When we facilitate exciting experiences such as trips, activities, and free play, we see that the subject areas rarely appear on their own. One subject area may be the core of the activity, while elements from several others naturally become supporting components or side themes.
We go on short and longer outings three days a week.
- Monday – trip day for the youngest children
- Wednesday and Thursday – trips for children aged 3–6
This autumn, the preschool group has water acclimation at Tromsøbadet every Friday.
Throughout the child’s time in the kindergarten, the various subject areas will be facilitated in a way that allows each child to achieve good progression.
We have two departments, Sydpolen and Nordpolen, which follow the same daily rhythm.
Our daily routine is:
07:00 – Opening
07:00–08:30 – Free play
08:30–08:45 – Circle time
08:45–09:15 – Breakfast
09:15–10:00 – Activity / Free play
10:30–12:30 – Outdoor time
12:45–13:30 – Lunch
13:30–14:30 – Activity / Free play
14:45–15:15 – Fruit
16:30 – Closing time
Children sleep when they need to, based on agreements with parents. We can also offer rest time for children who need it.
Meals and sleep routines are adapted individually according to each child’s needs.
The child’s best interest is always our highest priority.
