Welcom to Polarhagen Kindergarden

Welcome to Polarhagen Kindergarten Social competence is about being able to communicate and interact well with others in different situations. This competence is central for the individual child to succeed and thrive, and for him to be valued as a friend and equal participant in the interaction with the other children.

SOCIAL COMPETENCE

Kindergartens should contribute to well-being and joy in play and learning, and be a challenging and safe place for fellowship and friendship.

The kindergarten shall convey the values of culture, make room for children's own cultural creation and contribute to all children experiencing joy and mastery in a social and cultural community.

Our efforts to achieve this:

· We have gatherings where community and joy are focused.

· The collections are also used for work on various topics within this large area.

· We arrange for smaller groups so that each child has more space to express themselves, and interaction and play rules are easier to achieve.

· The children are guided away from unfortunate patterns of interaction.

· Play is the children's best learning arena for developing social competence.

Play therefore has a central place in the kindergarten, and is one of the kindergarten's focus areas
